After the B1 bis tank (35282), the Somua S35 (35344) and the R35 (35373), it is the turn of the Hotchkiss H39 to enter the Tamiya 1/35 Military Miniatures series. This means that the main French tanks of World War II are now lavishly reproduced on this scale by Tamiya!
Before World War II in 1935, the French army had developed the H35 for cavalry units (light tanks) and in 1939 the improved H39 version appeared. With upgraded castings such as the hull and turret, the H39 was equipped with a 120hp engine and a 37mm L/33 gun. She was in service during the German occupation of Norway in 1940. After the French surrender, German forces recovered and "Germanized" many H39 tanks that they deployed in various theaters of operations until the end of the conflict.
