Description
Model Il-2 Stourmovik on the scale 1/48 of the brand Zvezda reference 4825.
The famous Soviet attack aircraft IL-2 has been dubbed "the flying tank" because of its armour and firepower to provide direct support to ground troops. An armoured capsule protected the engine and cockpit. Its serial production began in February 1941. The very first version - reproduced by this kit , was single-seater.
The armament included a pair of 20mm ShVAK guns installed in the wing and a pair of 7.62mm ShKAS machine guns. Eight 132- or 82mm rockets could be carried under the wings and up to 600 kg of bombs in the ventral bunkers.
