How the STEM Ugears Gearbox Works

The gearbox is a stylized pedagogical model, an interactive study guide to the mechanism. Indeed, it is designed to learn its essential principles and its principles of operation. A mechanical gearbox is a gearbox that provides speed and torque conversions from an engine to the drive.

After assembly, you can experiment with the Ugears manual gearbox, in turn, choose I, II, III or reverse with a kinematic pair of gears with different gears and, by turning the actuator handle clockwise, you can look and control the rotational speed of the intermediate and drive shaft. In an "N" position - idling in which the two clutch gables of the intermediate shaft remain uncoupled and idling; The first speed rotates the intermediate shaft and gears at the lowest speed; The second gear allows the drive shaft with the steering wheel to turn at an average speed.

The third gear allows the intermediate shaft and all gears to rotate at the highest speed. Turn on the reverse and see how the drive clutch gable moves to and connects to the "R" gable, transferring the rotation to the lower gable and propelling the middle shaft and all gears to turn backwards.
