When these talented bicycle mechanics set out to build the first heavier-than-air powered aircraft, they needed wings that could provide sufficient lift, while being light and strong. Biplanes had two fixed wings, one above the other, connected by support struts; Bracing makes it possible to lighten the structure of the wing. World War I pilots entered biplane aviation, and while the Red Baron is known for its iconic purple triplane, most of his career as a decorated soldier was spent in a biplane.

Advances in aviation technology and materials made the biplane obsolete in the late 1930s, but biplanes still remain a staple and favorite of air show enthusiasts today. Quite naturally, when we decided to add an aircraft to our collection of "easy" models for young modellers, we could not resist the beauty and historical significance of the biplane. No special glue or tools are needed to assemble this kit. Simply detach the pre-cut parts from their composite wood planks and assemble them by pressure. When assembling the aircraft, do not forget to sand and lightly wax the moving parts so that they work well.
