A two-seater version of the Mirage F1C, the Mirage F1B took off for the first time from the Istres runway on 26 May 1976. French version of the Mirage F1BK initially developed at the request of Kuwait, the Mirage F1B entered service with the Air Force in April 1981, within the 5th fighter wing of the Orange Air Base 115, and more precisely in the fighter squadron 3/5 "Comtat-Venaissin". Of all the history of the Mirage F1 in France, it is the Mirage F1B that has had the longest career: 1980 - 2014.
