Mirage 2000 C 1/48 Heller

The Mirage 2000 Dassault-Breguet was chosen in December 1975 as the fighter aircraft of the future for the French Air Force, to serve until and beyond the year 2000. The Mirage 2000 retained the delta wing adopted for the earlier series of Mirages III and V, which was a great success. It thus becomes practically unique among modern generations of high-tech fighter aircraft. The delta wing has major advantages but also disadvantages, and Dassault-Breguet has undertaken a lot of research to make its forms more efficient. The Mirage 2000 owes its performance to the use of electrical controls and fly-by-wire computer-controlled technologies, which allows to control all the peculiarities inherent in unstable flight in the entire range of performance. The single-seat Mirage 2000C flew for the first time on 10 March 1978 and entered service with the French Air Force in July 1984, when it began replacing the old Mirage IIIE of the 1/2 Cigognes fighter squadron at the 102 Dijon-Longvic air base.
