The column of olive-green M4 Sherman tanks wound its way through the dusty, narrow alleys of northern France. On either side, dense vegetation and hedgerows crowded in. Groups of battle-weary GIs sprawled across the Shermans' engine decks, exhausted from constant fighting but grateful for the freedom of movement. Their weapons remained at the ready, ready to fight or engage their German adversaries.
Such a scene is now possible thanks to the launch of the latest Dragon Gen2 figure set. This 1/35th scale set includes four US Army soldiers, suitable for scenes from the 1944-45 period. These American “tank drivers” are the first of their kind to be available, making them a valuable asset. Dragon has recently produced accurate Sherman kits, and now finally offers infantry figures to portray them. Each of the four figures features a striking pose, either sitting or kneeling, and has been carefully sculpted to fit the engine deck of a Sherman. The details are accurate and incredibly refined, in keeping with their Gen2 status. Together, they form an impressive 1944-45 Northwest Europe scene for Sherman fans. Of course, these figures are also versatile, as they can be depicted at rest in almost any setting. As with previous Gen2 figure sets, these troopers are equipped with the most detailed and latest molded weapons, such as the M1 Garand and BAR. Their personal equipment is also well represented in high-quality molded plastic. These tank drivers are ready to mount their tank and go!
