To correct the layout error observed on the "E 50" type "Le Corse" fast escorts, the following units, known as the "E 52" type, adopted an inverted configuration of the armament which nevertheless remained the same, namely: three double 57 mm/60 remote-controlled ACAD model 1951 mounts under turrets, two 20 mm Oerlikons, four triple mounts of 550 mm torpedo tubes and a 375 mm Bofors Mle 54 six-fold rocket launcher. The torpedo mounts are now arranged on the main deck aft of the funnel and the rocket launcher is placed in front of the forward 57mm twin mounting. A DRBV 22A combined watch radar replaces the DRBV 20A of the previous units. The units, ordered in 1952 (known as E 5 to E 11) will benefit from "off-shore" financing such as DE 1007, DE 1008, DE 1009, DE 1010, DE 1011, DE 1012 DE ET DE 1013 in the nomenclature of the US Navy.
