T2M's Pirate XT-C RC car is a perfect radio controlled buggy to start them on. It features a powerful coal engine, a ribbed bathtub-type central composite chassis, and an aluminum front and rear auxiliary plate. Its 4-wheel drive will allow you to evolve on all terrains.
